How Does Their Training Process Work?
Denby Energy Has 4 Primary Strengths.
- Online Learning/Self-Study & Classroom The Denby Energy system is available in a
number of different formats including online learning, self study (materials downloaded to your computer
and you read through them yourself), and classroom training. Denby Energy is focused on making energy audit
training easy, convenient and affordable.
- Certification. All Denby Energy programs qualify the student to sit for the National
Energy and Sustainability Institute certification. This is an online test and is included in the purchase
price of your training program.
- Timing. If you take the classroom course, it will take 2 days of classroom training.
You will be Certified upon successful completion of the online exam, done on the 2nd day of training.
- Cost. Denby Energy offers a number of different training options, the basic training starting at $247.

Yes. The Denby Energy Programs were written and designed from personal experience in doing energy audits. It is not a theory course written by someone who merely compiled some information. It is a complete course written from direct experience.
What is their Exam Pass-Rate?
With some programs only 15% of people pass.
Denby Energy is protective of its actual testing pass-rate, but has told us that their pass-rate is on the order of 85%. That means after spending the time and money to take their course you have an 85% chance you will be certified. Good news when it’s your money paying for the course.
How Much Can You Charge for An Audit?
There are cost figure you need to know.
Denby Energy does not regulate how much you can charge. We do recommend that you charge somewhere in the neighborhood of $200-$250 for the basic audit.
That means you can pay for your training with one audit!
Are Tools Required?
No. They are helpful, but not necessary to start.
The Denby Energy program is designed to teach you about the tools, but you are free to implement the audit in a style that works for you - that could be pen and paper - or $30,000 worth of tools. It is your decision.
